Go-Ahead Singapore Awards Four Support Maintenance Contracts
Thursday 25 August 2016 - Go-Ahead Singapore today announced that it has awarded support maintenance contracts to four external suppliers. Two of these are for the upkeep of vehicle components, one for cleaning and one for facilities management. The contracts commence on Thursday 1 September 2016, with the exception of the last deal, which started in June this year.
Leonard Lee, Engineering Director, commented: “Our partners were carefully chosen and are industry leaders with strong expertise in their respective fields. Combined with the skillset of my team, these deals will enable us to maximise bus availability by using technology to monitor and manage key assets. We look forward to working collaboratively with our suppliers, so as to take care of our passengers’ needs.”
Stamford Tyres, a Singapore-headquartered distributor of tyres and wheels in over 90 countries, will maintain all tyres across Go-Ahead Singapore’s fleet of approximately 380 buses for three years. Stamford will focus on maximising the tyre life on every bus, each of which run approximately 72,000 kilometres a year. They will also rethread and regroove tyres, thereby reducing the company’s environmental footprint.
Leading global air conditioning developer and supplier Eberspacher has been contracted to provide a preventative maintenance package. They will diagnose and inspect all buses in the fleet for one year, replacing parts where necessary.
International Cleaning Services (ICS), a supplier to some of the biggest public transport operators in the world, will take responsibility for fuelling, washing, shunting and cleaning buses every evening for five years. ICS will also perform deep cleaning of approximately 100 buses a week. In addition, it will clean the Loyang Depot, as well as Pasir Ris and Punggol Interchanges.
Finally, leading global real estate services firm Cushman and Wakefield has been contracted to undertake all facilities management at Loyang Depot and the two interchanges previously mentioned for five years. As part of the deal, Cushman and Wakefield will maintain and service all equipment at the Depot and provide support on health and safety matters.
